ARTIST'S STATEMENT

When I returned to the world of art, having detoured for twenty-five years into the corporate world, I took to heart the advice of many authors to “write about what you know” and began to seek creative inspiration from my own experiences. Middle age is now a major focus of my work. I prefer introspective themes and am fascinated by the tension between inner and outer worlds, especially how to see one’s inner beauty through a body that is no longer youthful. The response I intend is for the observer to be moved enough emotionally to say, ”Ah, that’s me!”
